Network Optimization Update
OMAHA, June 2, 2008 — America’s largest Jiffy Lube franchisee announced today that it will suspend operations in 19 stores across the country to optimize overall company performance and enhance customer service. In making the announcement, Eric Glover, Heartland’s President and CEO said; “From time to time we review our network to ensure that we are operating at peak efficiency and as part of that review process we periodically open and/or close stores to ensure continued alignment with our mission and vision. At Heartland, we seek to become the preferred provider of automotive preventative maintenance services in every market that we serve. These actions are being taken as part of our long-term plan to realign our network and strengthen our core business to facilitate future growth and prepare for our ultimate exit from Chapter 11.”
Stores affected reside in the following Heartland regions: Austin, Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Memphis, Minneapolis, Nebraska, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tucson. Customers will be redirected to adjacent Heartland service centers in each trading area so that service can continue uninterrupted. Every effort will be made to re-locate employees of the affected facilities to nearby Heartland service centers. Following the suspension of operations in these stores, Heartland will continue to be the largest independent quick lube operator in the country with 414 stores in 15 major markets across America.
